Not all campervans are created equal. Adria has always had the edge with its Twin range, not just the legendary build quality and all-round ‘robustness’ but also with their pedigree in terms of the smart use of space, their flexibility and agility. Now, for 2019, the new generation Twins are born and bring genuine innovation to the booming panel van conversion market.
The new campervan range includes all-new Twin Supreme and Twin Plus models, with new interiors, innovative new bathroom and kitchen solutions and Adria’s exclusive and patented new Sky-roof in the Twin Supreme.
Adria UK MD Slavica Sterk says ‘We are delighted to be the very first manufacturer to launch the exclusive sky roof window within a van conversion. This unique and patented Adria feature is sure to be a great hit and we are very much looking forward to an even more successful season with the Twin range in 2019’
The stand out feature is the new Adria patented and exclusive Sky-roof in the new Twin Supreme, where the double panoramic window brings in not just light but somehow a whole new feeling of space and of being closer to nature, to the Sky-lounge. But its more than that, it’s actually how the clever Adria engineers have integrated the living space and the cabin, into one space, in the new Supreme and Plus models. Gone are the bulky dividers between these two spaces, in their place a new Sky-lounge with ‘Cabin loft’ design which improves headroom and space utilisation. It’s almost a crossover vehicle, van from the outside but a more motorhome like feeling on the inside.
Inside in the top of the range Supreme models Adria has gone with a classy and modern look, with Onyx interior. It’s an attractive, quite monochromatic and automotive styling familiar to many upscale car brands but with glossy white cabinetry. And you can personalise with the choice of textiles and new Soft Furnishing selections. In the Plus models, a little more traditional style with the Sandy White or Sandy Brown interior, again with the personal choices to make on textiles and soft furnishings. The new kitchen blocks are designed to equip each model with a fully functional kitchen. Clean unfussy lines, a decent worktop space (with an easy flip up extension), sink and two burner stove, sink and three deep soft close drawers beneath. Complementing the new kitchen is a selection of compressor fridges at 90L (or 152l in 600SPB, 600SPX and 640 SLB models). The dinette, is spacious and with the swivel cabin chairs, adjustable table with utility tray (for everything from mugs to phones and tablets!). The table has three positions (1x regular use with or without table extension, low position for optional longitudinal bed in dinette and outside fixation). And there’s also optional Isofix.
There are new bathroom solutions, dependent on the model and layout, with the eye-catching new Adria Duplex design the hero feature. The swivelling wall enables you to effectively have two bathrooms in one space, one with a sink and toilet and one with an enclosed and spacious shower cubicle. That’s genius and some layouts even have a bathroom window for extra ventilation and light. Other layouts offer an en-suite format with a separate toilet and shower cubicle or more regular bathroom formats based on ergonomic principles.
As for bedrooms, all are located at the rear, all feature Adria comfortable matrasses and all are generously proportioned, 1900mm x 1960mm in the new SGX model, where an electrical pull-down bed allows sleeping at different heights and positions (long beds or fixed bed positions) as well as superb storage for all that outdoor gear. Other models offer long or fixed beds and all offer new creative storage solutions and extra privacy.
Adria Twins have always excelled when it comes to all season and cold climate conditions. It’s part of the package that Adria just does differently. The state of the art factory now includes its own Climatic Chamber which can test vehicles in extreme heat, cold and humidity conditions (and effectively freeze test each vehicle on long test cycles), hence the new Twin range offer Adria’s unique Thermo-build standards of insulation, ventilation and air circulation with Truma heating, (and Webasto on the 640SGX). So, the new generation Adria Twins bring some breakthrough innovations to the camper van fraternity and will likely make the decision for some, between a camper van and a motorhome, more difficult.
